Abnormal red cells (oxygen carrying cells), white cells (cells protecting from infection), or platelets (cells protecting from bleeding) in the blood.

Have your blood count i.e. Hemoglobin, white cell count and platelet count monitored yearly at least. (Aim for normal levels). World wide estimates are that there are about 2 billion people with anemia; approximately 50% of those are related to iron deficiency.
